The cool weathe
After spending most of the afternoon at The Broadway we returned to the coach to relax and then decided to ta
ke a walk on the beach. There is something about the ocean that is very calming to a person. Maybe that is one of the reasons I enjoyed being in the Navy all those years. The beach has a large amount of sea shells that have washed up. Unfortunately, most are fairly broken up due to the surf that comes in with the tide changes. (In the winter of 2007 we walked the beach in Northern Florida and picked up a large amount of shells to take back home to the grand daughters. We found many that had not been broken. Did not have that kind of luck here.) Anyway, we did have a nice evening walk down the beach.

Those fish!?!!? That's horrible! I'll never get Bill to try catfish if he sees that! They are absolutely disgusting! If that happened over here in Britain there would be animal rights activitists up in arms that the poor things were starving and overcrowded! Actually, that even catfish can be trained to beg for food makes me a bit squeamish, though I still eat pigs, don't I?
I love beaches, too, even cold ones, but not as much as warm ones! After the Med, the Gulf is my next favourite beach in the world. It's looking pretty good from your photo - no black oil streaks to be seen. I'm envious of your warm weather and southern holiday, though it was beautiful sunshine most of today and almost got up to 60! Spring might actually arrive after all.
Hang on, I just went back to day 15 and you're talking about the Atlantic (and - duh - the title says East Coast). I'm pleading wooly-virus brain, OK?
I do not love the Atlantic, I must admit - though it looks unusually blue. I usually think of it as grey-ish; only slightly less solid grey than the North Sea. Still, it looks reasonably warm...
We, on the other hand, are fighting our watering mouths at the sight of all those "beautiful" Catfish! Looks like a fisherman's paradise for sure. Glad you are having a good time and sharing Myrtle Beach with us - looks like a wonderful place to hang out!
Shelly, you must remember that on your side you are at the northern part of the Atlantic. Where we are is about the same as maybe Spain. Water temps here are in the high 50's. Also, the beaches on the Atlantic side are very clean as opposed to the west coast beaches.
The lake is pretty large with plenty of room for the fish. They just like to congregate together around the fish food dispensers. Some of these things are huge.
