Moving day and away from one of the worst parks in the country.
Up and around this morning and away from Circle R Campground. Hope never to have a need to use their antiquated facility again. We headed north up and around Lake Winnebago and then east to Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Arrived at the Manitowoc Expo Center and Ice Arena around 11:00. Spent a couple of hours, in the heat and humidity, doing all the necessary things required to set up camp for a week. The rally does not actually start until tomorrow afternoon and ends on Saturday evening. Looks like about two-thirds of the coaches are here with the rest coming in tomorrow. (Two came in after they closed the gate for the evening so they will have to sit outside the gate tonight and wait to be parked in the morning.)
We did meet up with our friends, Jim and Peggy Girch, this evening. Original plans were to go out to dinner but Jim finagled us an invite to a dinner that one of the national RV dealers, out of California, puts on for their customers. Had a good time and was able to meet up with several old friends. That is the best part of attending the rallies, seeing other RV friends we've made during our travels and meeting new people for the first time. After fourteen years of doing this RV thing, although only on a part time basis, we are amazed at the number of friends we have made scattered all over the country.
